$Bill Pador > Continuing on my Sunset theme this was shot about a 1/4 mile from yesterdays sunset in a location that I shot one similar back in the spring over this swamp land. The last 3 days of Holiday have worn me out and I need some well deserved rest. I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday and now take the time to enjoy & relax over the weekend since New Years Rockin Eve. is just a few days away. Thanks for all the wonderful comments on yesterdays image, it has now become one of my favorite sunsets to date and I'm glad I took the risk in shooting it while the temps chilled me to the bone, it was all worth it ;) ~Bill~ \ "ATTENTION Nikon D300 Owners !" / If your not aware, Nikon has released a "MAJOR" FIRMWARE UPDATE on 12/16/08 bringing us up from Ver. $Bill Pador > "Reflective Christmas Sunset" Just after I finished eating my Christmas dinner I stepped outside for a cigarette. I looked to the west and saw the sun setting and it was throwing off some really wonderful colors. Being that I was in a neighborhood loaded with houses where I was visiting I grabbed my coat and headed for an area I have previously taken a magnificent sunset in the past (The East Hanover Sunset). It was a race against time because I saw how low the sun was already and the colors seemed to be peaking. I felt my cars speed increasing trying to beat the clock and when I made it into the area I was amazed to see these colors blazing in the sky. I was so worried about losing the color I stopped my car in the right lane of a 4 lane road, put my emergency flashers on (this WAS an emergency! right?) and grabbed my camera, bipod & Cokin Sunset Filter, jumped over a snow bank & the guard rail and started cranking off some shots. This was the result !!! I was able to capture the blue part of the sky reflecting off the small frozen stream (bottom left) that runs up to the middle of the shot that adds special character & IMO just simply AWESOME!!! I was freaking out on the side of the road like a little kid and couldn't wait to get home to see it on the large screen (and to warm up I was FROZEN Solid). I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, this was one of those captures that really makes you proud to be a photographer !!! "Happy New Year Everyone"

Well the last posting for 2008 so I thought I would make it interesting. I was playing around with some B&W techniques and stumbled upon making this selective color out of this shot of the woods reflecting in the river. I let some of the sky color bleed into the river against the infrared type B&W scene and then made it float above the frame work and thought it turned out pretty cool so I figured I would post it for my POD today.

I wish you all a very Happy & Prosperous New Year for 2009 and hope all your Dreams come True for the future. It's been a pleasure getting to know all of you who visit my work everyday and I am so happy to have made such a wonderful group of friends & artists. Enjoy your New Year parties and remember to go easy on the spirits tonight LOL Me I don't have to worry, I don't partake in drinking any more :)
