Bill Pador > "Fall Reflections"
10-23-09 Reflections of the fall colors in a small river just as the sun went down. I purposely shot this scene with a small amount of shore line showing so I could flip the image giving the illusion of the water being on top and the tress being in the wrong place to give it some creativity. This image is SOTC

Have a Great Weekend Everyone

10-30-09 UPDATE: Thank You for all the wonderful comments & feedback on this image. Incredibly this image has become the #4 most popular photo on my web site in less then a week of posting it. WOW !!! Thanks Everyone !

Bill Pador > "Blue Skies Forever"
10-22-09 Well I Finally got out to shoot my Yearly 'Fall Colors' Series for 2009 Yesterday & Today. I am presently processing the images as I type this so hopefully I'll have the entire series consisting of approx. 150 completed images by tonight sometime and will upload the gallery when I go to sleep. I'll post the link to the gallery when I have it for all of you who follow this series every year (Thank You)

This image was taken at the entrance of the local golf course today, I noticed these trees with this slamming blue sky behind it as I drove by to my destination and couldn't resist stopping, thank goodness I did because I would have really been upset had I missed this capture.

The image is basically SOTC for the exception of my basic sharpening routine that every image I shoot gets. I used a 'Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 Di XR' with a Circular Polarizer. The suns position was @ 5 O'Clock & very low in the sky to the shot (90 min. before sunset) shining on the tree color and darkening the blue sky. So the conditions were perfect and some how I managed to get a great exposure on both the sky & trees.

Bill Pador > 10-20-09 / Here's another shot taken with the Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8 Fish Eye. It's a low level shot of the bass player. I did a lot of hand PP on this one to bring out all the detail and make it look like a Sepia type HDR but it is a single frame shot. Most of the processing consisted of hand Dodging & burning techniques to enhance the shadows & highlights that were already visible, but I was able to bring out the grain in the wood of the bass, ceiling, clothing, face and walls to really make an artistic piece out of this one. It's one of my favorite shots for the band shoot. The venue was decorated for Halloween which gave me some nice details to work with as well.

" * Definitely a MUST View @ X2-Large to appreciate fine details * "

PS: Is Anyone going to the PDN Photo Expo @ the NY City Javets Center this week ? If so drop me a message and we'll hook up at the event to walk around together !!! If anyone WANTS to go and doesn't have tickets, let me know I might have a way to get FREE tickets still !

Bill Pador > "Spare Picks"
10-19-09 I took this shot while shooting my clients 'Devil You know' Saturday night. I did this shoot with total artistic images in mind and not the usual stage shots to give them something unique for their bands photo portfolio.

I saw the lead guitarist Scott with his mike set up with this row of extra picks lined up and saw a great image the moment I saw the guitarist looking off stage like he was dreaming. It was shot with the Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8 Fish Eye. I had the stage lit using 2 SB-900's each with a HONL Colored Gel attached, the right having Green the left blue. The right flash was set up with a HONL Bounce reflector set sideways across the front of the stage and the left was slightly behind the stage facing toward center stage and then up bouncing off the ceiling giving a nice back lit / rear fill appearance and here it lit the tops of the picks nicely and allowing a soft focus & bokeh on the artist to filter through.

PP consisted of adjusting levels, sharpness & sepia filter along with applying a slight Burnt Sienna colored tint, hand applied vignette with a slight blur effect, hand dodging & burning with finally colored border, then a black border with white key line then small black border to finish.

* Best Viewed Large - Hope you enjoy it !

Bill Pador > 10-14-09 More of the Great Silver Back gorilla from the Bronx Zoo. I came upon this image I shot a few weeks ago and thought everyone would enjoy it. Mama & baby giving me a classic pose while in the trees of their habitat at the Bronx Zoo. It doesn't get much better for me then this !
