Bill Pador > 8-27-09 This is a (3) Frame Hand held HDR shot of the Bridge I shot yesterdays lake image from pointing in the same direction where the storm was coming in from over the mountains (Best Viewed Large). The image was shot as a (3) Frame -1_0_+1 exposure while supported & braced on a guard rail. The images were then combined and aligned in "Photomatix Pro 3" and then Tone Mapped. The HDR gives you an idea of how violent the incoming storm was which dumped approx. 2" of rain on me 10 min. later in a matter of 20 min. or so.

Thanks for all the great comments on yesterdays image, I'm glad to be back at the dailies after a long & busy summer

Bill Pador > "The Snow Covered Bridge"
I was torn between 2 lovers, oh geez that was a song excuse me, I was torn between 2 IMAGES today for my POD but I finally decided on this one for some reason, a coin toss really but I did put the other one in my EXTRAS gallery because it was good enough to make me flip a coin.

This little walk bridge has appeared before in a past gallery but I drove past it today and had to stop and shoot it at a different angle and it also had this fresh snow from last night on it. I made it a selective color to bring the viewers eye into the bridge by using foreground color in the weeds and added a custom soft focus filter I developed some time ago and use quite often which works well on images like this where there is a lot of thin branches to FLUFF it up a bit.(*as always B&W was created using NIK Silver Efex Pro)

Thanks SO much for all your wonderful comments on yesterdays challenge shot. I've received several email's on WHERE I got the 'Jack Daniels' Coffee but as I stated I got it as a gift and have no idea where it was purchased. I would assume it probably came from one of those gourmet food shops you find in the malls. I don't even remember who gave it to me LOL. I[m gonna open it up tomorrow and give it a try and will report back on it's taste ! (*PS I was informed by Kre8ive that the JD coffee is actually cured in the JD barrels after they are done making whisky so it should have an interesting taste - yummy!)

Have a Great day folks and keep on snapping, I guess winter isn't all that bad now - Check that it still sucks !!

PS: To see the image that lost the coin toss please VISIT MY EXTRA GALLERY HERE It has some really cool lines throughout the image & that's why I liked it so much !

I shot this last week the same day I took the Little Red Bridge shot & my Christmas card shot. It's on the opposite side of the street on the same little river. Shot from street level looking down I decided to go with a portrait length because it just looked so wonderful in the view finder with the little bits of snow coming out to the rivers edge and the light was just perfectly coming down on that fallen tree to highlight it along with the deep reflections towards the back of the river turn.

"This is one of my Favorite B&W shots of This Year" and just had to post it before the gallery is closed for the year. I did some selective dodging & burning on the river bank snow and the water to bring the highlights out but the light patterns you see are all mother nature. It was like she was showing off the snow in the dark river water. I also softened the focus a bit to add a peaceful feel.

* I have Increased the size availability in this gallery so you can view this larger because you just have to see the details in the reflections and how the light is hitting the snow areas in this one, so PLEASE view this at X2Large to see full detail & effect of the light & shadows of this one, this is one shot I really am PROUD of and glad I could fit it in my '08 gallery for you to see!

PS: Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my 'Insense Rose' yesterday they really brought a smile to my face. Oh you might wanna see that one at X2Large as well, you can actually see the texture I laid into now at that size !!

Bill Pador > Here is a different angle & process of the snow covered bridge from the other day. I developed it as a single shot HDR & then tone mapped it for the effect. I really like the way it turned out with the water running under the bridge and the trees with dotted color & reflections. Looks very peaceful to me.

This image should bring some holiday cheer & feel for the day, Hope you all are having a wonderful Christmas day and enjoying your holiday with family & friends.

Happy Holidays to All
