Bill Pador > "The Red Barn"
Using the new version of Topaz Adjust 2.6 this red barn found new life. I love the textures & colors this software put out and makes it so easy to grab the Dave Hill look. I found this old barn on the way to drop something off to my daughter at school and stopped in the middle of the street to shoot it LOL. It's actually in someones front yard. We're getting ready for ANOTHER snow storm tomorrow bearing gifts of 6"8" of the white stuff, boy am I tired of this !

Bill Pador > "The Snow Covered Bridge"
I was torn between 2 lovers, oh geez that was a song excuse me, I was torn between 2 IMAGES today for my POD but I finally decided on this one for some reason, a coin toss really but I did put the other one in my EXTRAS gallery because it was good enough to make me flip a coin.

This little walk bridge has appeared before in a past gallery but I drove past it today and had to stop and shoot it at a different angle and it also had this fresh snow from last night on it. I made it a selective color to bring the viewers eye into the bridge by using foreground color in the weeds and added a custom soft focus filter I developed some time ago and use quite often which works well on images like this where there is a lot of thin branches to FLUFF it up a bit.(*as always B&W was created using NIK Silver Efex Pro)

Thanks SO much for all your wonderful comments on yesterdays challenge shot. I've received several email's on WHERE I got the 'Jack Daniels' Coffee but as I stated I got it as a gift and have no idea where it was purchased. I would assume it probably came from one of those gourmet food shops you find in the malls. I don't even remember who gave it to me LOL. I[m gonna open it up tomorrow and give it a try and will report back on it's taste ! (*PS I was informed by Kre8ive that the JD coffee is actually cured in the JD barrels after they are done making whisky so it should have an interesting taste - yummy!)

Have a Great day folks and keep on snapping, I guess winter isn't all that bad now - Check that it still sucks !!

PS: To see the image that lost the coin toss please VISIT MY EXTRA GALLERY HERE It has some really cool lines throughout the image & that's why I liked it so much !

Bill Pador > "The House On The Snowy Hill"
This was my alternate choice for my POD image today 1/13/09 because I was having a hard time deciding which one to put up. I really liked this shot because of all the lines in the hill side cris crossing across the mountain side and the forest tress & bushes creating such a huge geometry puzzle look to it. So I had to add this one to the Extra gallery because i felt it a shame to waist sitting on my hard drive.

I went with a custom B&W / selective color I created in NIK SILVER EFEX PRO which if your not aware of it is one of if not the BEST B&W conversion software package available today. VERY simple to use and has more settings then you can shake a stick at.

For more details on this incredible software plug in visit http://www.niksoftware.com/silverefexpro/usa/entry.php

PS: If you own it already they also have over 30+ additional Pre-Sets you can download there too !!!

Bill Pador > "ICE STORM"
We are in the middle of a 2 day Ice Storm here in North West NJ, it hasn't let up for almost 48 hours now and everything is covered in 1/4" - 1/2" of pure ice making traveling treacherous BUT for a photographer it's an awesome site. I didn't get out to the mountains for some full landscape shots so I walked out to my front yard and got some of my trees, bushes & grass that were pretty cool. A Lot of things look like snake skin like this berry tree. I hope this goes away soon, gotta get ready for the snow storm their calling for on Saturday LOL BTW this was shot hand held using my Tamron 90mm Di f/2.8 1:1 Macro, I love this lens !

PS: I have a bunch more ice storm images shot yesterday in my Weather gallery "CLICK HERE IF INTERESTED" Some really cool macro images came out of this storm !

Bill Pador > OK So I have a funny story of how this image came about today. To make a long story short, we had a nice beautiful snowfall last night of about 3" of large puffy flakes covering the tree limbs so elegantly. My PLAN was to go out and capture a nice winter scene of fresh powdery snow lining the braches with fast moving clouds above using a slightly longer shutter speed to creatively blur the sky using a Polarizer & 2 step ND Grad Filters. (*It WAS a Great Plan)

Obviously that's not what your looking at because Mr. "I have a Plan" went to go out for the tree shot and got involved in several emails and a few friends calling and before I knew it, it was past noon. the sun had come up along with the wind blew/melted all the snow off the trees to my surprise LOL. I even drove out into the mountains that surround my house and still No Joy there. So I found myself back at my home in the driveway where I spotted this mini Christmas tree that I have on both sides of my driveway covered in water drops (ie. ya know the SNOW that melted off of it LOL) and saw the cool reflections in the drops & the sun light clipping off the lower left drop where the small sun ray can be seen. On the left side of the right drop is a reflection of "Mr. I Have a Plan" too LOL

It was freezing out and very windy so I just hand held the shot, manual focused to the best I could at 3" away and blasted off a quick 30 frames and headed inside. I managed to get ONE good one as you see here, all the rest were blurred or miss focused because of the short distance & DOF I was using.

But I thought it turned out pretty cool with nice colors in the drops, good reflections of the bush buds and the right droplet having the leaf behind it being refracted in the drop making it look like it's inside of it.

So that's my story and I'm sticking to it LOL Hope you enjoyed my misery and sorry I missed the snow fall shot I planned on taking, It WOULD have been nice :) Thanks for all the well wishes on my health yesterday guys & gals! As always they are much appreciated ;)

This Macro was shot on my way out to the driveway for the morning paper and didn't want it to go to waste. I saw the morning rain drops on the branch and saw the entire bush & my car being reflected into the single rain drop so I shot it. Take a look top center on the leave and see if you can spot the water droplet that looks like a duck face ;)

Bill Pador > Bright Red eye fly on a bush
Bill Pador > I thought it was a good day for a flower image because I've been having a wonderful day and these give off the happy glow that I'm having.

First thing this morning I was notified by Webshots that my image 'STEAMING TEA POT' that I had shot last month for a POD here (thanks kr8ive) was being featured as WebShots 'PHOTO OF THE DAY' in their Entertainment section which can be SEEN HERE *(it's off to the side as of 7/31) followed by an email box full of congratulations from viewers. From there my day has just been a very enjoyable one.
I like these flowers so much I had to create a montage from it so please check it out in my EXTRAS GALLERY HERE *(I may be bias but personally I think it came out GREAT LOL)

Thank you all for your wonderful comments on my new smoke art venture, I have put so much work into developing the technique & work flow for it I hope it pays off in the end. I'm really excited about it and I know with more hard work & determination I'll be able to make a go of it.

Have a great day everyone ;)

Bill Pador > "You Lookin @ Me?"
This fly was trying to seek shelter from the heavy down poor last night when I spotted him clinging to this bush while shooting my POD image. It was a cool looking fly with those Red Eyes peering at me so I figured I would share it with you. My main POD image "Floating Water" can be seen HERE
