Bill Pador > "Another Day Goes Away"
10-21-09 / I shot this sunset this evening at one of my favorite spots for sunsets, The Rockaway Mall Parking lot LOL. It may be funny but I have known since 1990 when I lived just across the street 200' from here and had a deck off my kitchen that faced this very mountain giving me the exact view you are seeing now and I used to sit on the deck every night waiting for this scene. Just having this view increased the value of my town house 10's of thousands of dollars when it came time to sell it. The deck & this view were my favorite part of living there. This image is almost SOTC with the exception of the long crop, basic sharpening & frame. Enjoy it my friends !

PS: Thanks for all the wonderful comments the past few days on my Fish Eye Lens series !

Bill Pador > 9-14-09
Here's a shot of the Donkey couple I met at the farm. How cute they looked together !

I went into NY City yesterday to visit B&H Photo's main HQ's and all I have to say is WOW, what a place ! I bought a Nikon SB-R200 Flash for wireless fills, A Sekonic L-358 Light Meter (Awesome Meter), A Justin Clamp (clamps a flash onto anything, must have tool) and a great MountainSmith Lens Case (very nice stuff). It's amazing how they take orders from hundreds of people at a time, send everything down on a conveyor belt and your order is waiting for you when you pay. Very cool operation if you ever get to see it !

Bill Pador > 8-30-09 / Here's another HDR shot I did at the Bridge Lake concentrating on the far shore this time with the fountain in it. Again the storm clouds rolling in and some nice deep rich colors, great reflections and sharp focus from the Tamron lens and the sun from my back. Shot as a (3) frame -1_0_+1 exposure, combined as a HDR and tone mapped in Photomatix Pro 3. * Best Viewed Large)

I'll certainly be visiting this spot in the fall when the colors change, should look awesome !

Bill Pador > Happy Hump Day Everyone, Sorry I've been MIA for a few days, i just haven't been feeling well and needed a few days rest but I'm up & around again for the exception of still being really tired so I fired up a hot cup of coffee so I can sit down, relax and visit some of your dailies so I can catch up on my back log. The weather here has been, well simply put Awful! Raining for the lat 4 days with 2-3 more days like it still on tap, chilly, damp and dark. So looks like the next few days dailies will be still life projects, that's once I figure out what I want to shoot LOL

I hope you all have been having a good week, personally I'm looking forward to some better weather so I can get myself over to the Bronx and visit the Zoo for some Gorilla shots. I've been excited to visit the Bronx Zoo since last fall when I went. Hopefully I'll get some better conditions this time around with more sun & better lighting for the colorful bird shots. The Gorilla exhibit is what I'm looking forward to most though, they were one of the most incredible & fascinating animals to watch & photograph I've experienced in my entire career. I could sit & watch them for hours.

I took this shot from my front porch, the image really doesn't even do the sky justice as it looked in person was even more vivid & moody.

Enjoy your day folks, it's great to be back from my 4 day Missing In Action Tour, even my Mom was worried about my lack of posts LOL - So this is for you Mom ;)

Bill Pador > Yea it's Friday ! The weather here in NJ is absolutely marvelous in the high 70's today with Sat. & Sun supposed to be close to 90' ! This is very welcome weather and I'm very happy about it so I figured I'd post a wild looking cloud formation I shot by our local mall with storm clouds at the bottom and fluffy cotton ball couds on top..

I have a sweet 16 party to work tomorrow night but I'll try to get out on Sunday to get some landscape shots. I've been so busy lately and along with not feeling well to get out and do some quality shooting so hopefully this weekend will provide some nice shooting conditions. Funny thing after I posted my lightning shot I got an email from my mom who told me I'd better be more careful LOL Nothing like being 44 yo and still getting yelled out by your mom, don't ya just love it LOL. Glad you all liked the lightning shot, I certainly enjoyed shooting it right up untill it got a little too real for me. Have a great weekend everyone !

Bill Pador > Well I went with another Seagull shot today this time in flight & in color. Just having fun with my winter friends so why not right ! One thing i like about seagulls is their so used to being around humans you can get quite close to them without them being spooked so they offer excellent close ups. I'm still working on a batch I took of them so I would expect 1 or 2 more at least in my Extras gallery LOL.

Thanks for all the well wishes, I'm still having a bit of discomfort and really have only slept about 4 hours since Monday night. The rainy weather is supposed to pull out so that will help a bunch. So in the mean time I will just play with my Blackberry 'STORM' some more since I'm getting the hang of it now and making use of it's features, what a really cool piece of electronics folks, i HIGHLY recommend getting one if your in the market. Hands down the BEST phone I've ever owned especially if you run a business or studio of your own ! I even figured out a way to put all my blank studio contracts and model releases on it so they can be emailed right from my phone to a client in seconds, Pretty Cool indeed . . .

I'll try to catch up on my comments today, I'm sorry I got 2 days behind but I'm trying guys ;)

Bill Pador > "Deep Orange Glow"
I shot this from my front porch During an approaching storm the other night the sun started going down and the colors were bleeding through the storm clouds creating an awesome sky. I shot a hand held 3 frame bracket -1, 0, +1 then brought it into Photomatix to create an HDR, Tone Mapped it and then into CS3 where I adjusted Levels, Curves, Contrast. Then into NIK Color Efex to boost Pro contrast and then finished it off with Imagenomic Noiseware and keyline frame. I just wish I would have grabbed my tripod to make things easier in blending mode but it came out pretty good for hand held anyway.

The Smiling Joe Project is coming along nicely, I've been busy putting together all the logistics of the plan and should be sending out another email to everyone in the next few days with more updates and how this will work for everyone. Don't worry, it's a simple process for you all and nothing but fun involved, it's me who is tearing his hair out right now LOL Not really it's not that bad, just a lot of paper work (which I hate) but once it's all done it will run like clock work (I hope LOL) IN the mean time I've been able to recruit 2 more countries, India & Australia to his overseas adventure. So as of now he will be traveling to "7" different countries on 4 different continents, not bad ! Thanks for every one's participation, I'm VERY excited about the whole thing.

Have a Great Evening Everyone,
~Bill~
Bill Pador > "Looking Up To The Heavens"

 The Looking Up Challenge...02/16/09
The Challenge: Show us your interpretation of "Looking Up."
The Participants: Kre8ive, John (300m), The Curious Camel, Karina, Creative Deviance, Lady Kate, Johnloguk, MSpencer, Trevlan, FotoEffects, Hillary, and myself.
The Result: As soon as the theme of Looking Up came to light I knew exactly what I wanted to use for this. Since I was very busy this week with client shoots and spending countless hours in the digital dark room I chose to use this shot that I felt deserved to be viewed because of it's bold look. This church was processed as a single frame HDR, using Photomatix to process the original image, then tone mapped. It was then brought into CS3 where I began to Dodge & Burn certain areas to bring out the contrast, boost color & adjust curves. Although I'm not a very religious man, the final piece gave me an over whelming feeling of looking up into the heavens with a peaceful relaxation and I especially enjoyed the lens flare glowing on the cross on the front of the building. Hope you all have a wonderful week and remember to stop along the way to look to the heavens to make all your dreams come true.

Best Regards,
~Bill Pador~
Bill Pador > "The Red Barn"
Using the new version of Topaz Adjust 2.6 this red barn found new life. I love the textures & colors this software put out and makes it so easy to grab the Dave Hill look. I found this old barn on the way to drop something off to my daughter at school and stopped in the middle of the street to shoot it LOL. It's actually in someones front yard. We're getting ready for ANOTHER snow storm tomorrow bearing gifts of 6"8" of the white stuff, boy am I tired of this !

Enjoy your Day,
~Bill~

"Another Day Goes Away"
