Bill Pador > Good Morning all - I had gone outside to shoot some of the flowers in my garden before mother nature takes them away for the fall so I wondered over to my wild flower bed and started shooting these and low & behold I saw this LITTLE TINY (and I mean TINY - size of an pencil eraser head tip) Single Spider (on Right) sitting on the pedal. Well I started to frame it up and by the time I started to shoot he had moved up the middle and I started to witness a war between these 2 fellows. I don't know where the other one came from but he appeared and BAM they stared at each other for 10 seconds or so and then started battling. It was over in 5 seconds and the left one high tailed it off to another flower. I racked off about 30 frames in about 4 seconds and this is the only one that came out focused in the proper area because of the narrow f/stop I was using to get some good bokeh. I just love this lens!
* * / / Check it out at X3LARGE size to see the spiders face up close the eyes & nose can be seen pretty freaky \ \* *

Not much PP here, a slight bit of unsharp mask and the framing was all that was needed. So I'm glad I was able to hand hold this puppy and get a good enough exposure to share with you today. Thanks for all the wonderful comments on the Badge image from yesterday, that was a fun shot for me to take.

Bill Pador > This little guy was so busy pollinating flowers this morning I just had to document his efforts. The weather was very overcast and needing to set my f/stop quite high for a crisp depth of field I resorted to using my on board flash. To soften the light so it wasn't so harsh doing a close macro shot I used rear curtain flash set to -1.7 flash compensation which enabled me to capture a nice crisp image with good depth of field and contrast on the leaves & water drops on the pedal.
Bill Pador > "Mosquito on Ice"
I was photographing some Lilies in my front yard this morning after noticing that the rain last night was still sitting on the pedals. So I grabbed my Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Di 1:1 Macro lens and set up my tripod. The evening rain also brought out another pest, Mosquito's ! I was stung 5 or 6 times in less then 10 min. and was just about to call my session quits when this little fella landed on the white Lilly I was shooting. So I cranked off a few frames and this was the result. A crystal clear shot that looked like he was sitting on top of a frozen mountain. His stinger straight up in the air and something I had never noticed on these critters before, look at the 2 small Antenna's he has sticking out of his back. Pretty cool stuff and I learned something new today about this insect. I just love my Tamron lens, what a great piece of glass!
Bill Pador > "Fly Gets a Drink"
While shooting my lilies this fly managed to land on this purple Lilly I was photographing to take a drink from one of the water droplets on the pedal
Bill Pador > "BEE IN FLIGHT"
Catching a bee in flight while holding a macro lens with a shallow Depth of Field set is not an easy task, but I managed one here as this little hard working bee flew from one flower to the next
Bill Pador > "BUMBLE BEE @ WORK"
This Bumble Bee was hard at work pollinating flowers this morning while I shot some water drop covered lilies. I was able to capture his wings buzzing at a high rate of speed while he transferred the magic powder to this flower with my Tamron 90mm Macro lens while hand held and rear curtain flash with a -1.7 compensation to stop the wings in flight while still giving it some motion blur.
Bill Pador > This cool looking fly was giving off a PRISM Effect in the direct sunlight while buzzing around some bushes and I managed to get a captures where I got some great Bokeh on the back of the wings and get his eyes in focus. You never see a bug this close up with your eyes and see things much different through a 1:1 Macro lens that's for sure. Their kinda gross but interesting on the other hand.
