Bill Pador > "Another Day Goes Away"
10-21-09 / I shot this sunset this evening at one of my favorite spots for sunsets, The Rockaway Mall Parking lot LOL. It may be funny but I have known since 1990 when I lived just across the street 200' from here and had a deck off my kitchen that faced this very mountain giving me the exact view you are seeing now and I used to sit on the deck every night waiting for this scene. Just having this view increased the value of my town house 10's of thousands of dollars when it came time to sell it. The deck & this view were my favorite part of living there. This image is almost SOTC with the exception of the long crop, basic sharpening & frame. Enjoy it my friends !

PS: Thanks for all the wonderful comments the past few days on my Fish Eye Lens series !

Bill Pador > Fish Eye Frenzy
10-17-09 Well I finally took the plunge and bought a Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8 Fish Eye that I have wanted for a very long time for weddings & landscapes (OK I wanted it for FUN Too) LOL but if I blame it on the business expense it justifies the almost $800 price tag on this little lens. I was out in the field all day with it yesterday after buying it and I had a BLAST ! I knew it was gonna be fun but not nearly as much fun as I had with it already.

I shot this in a open field by my house, my hand is about 3' off the ground and nowhere near the leaf but I was learning how to manipulate the distortion of the lens and came up with this little creative shot.

I'll be using it on a live shoot tonight shooting a rock band client of mine on stage, so I should be able to get some really colorful & creative shots using this bad boy. If you've always wanted a fish eye I say don't wait any more, just go get it, it's THAT MUCH FUN ~!

Have a Great Weekend Everyone !

Bill Pador > 9-10-09 "The Lone Dream Flower"
This one is just because . . . Because I haven't played with my favorite B&W in a while and thought I should go back to having fun in the dark room with a simple image and try to create something out of it. How'd I Do ?

* Detail seen much better Larger *

Bill Pador > 8-30-09 / Here's another HDR shot I did at the Bridge Lake concentrating on the far shore this time with the fountain in it. Again the storm clouds rolling in and some nice deep rich colors, great reflections and sharp focus from the Tamron lens and the sun from my back. Shot as a (3) frame -1_0_+1 exposure, combined as a HDR and tone mapped in Photomatix Pro 3. * Best Viewed Large)

I'll certainly be visiting this spot in the fall when the colors change, should look awesome !

~Bill~
Bill Pador > 8-27-09 This is a (3) Frame Hand held HDR shot of the Bridge I shot yesterdays lake image from pointing in the same direction where the storm was coming in from over the mountains (Best Viewed Large). The image was shot as a (3) Frame -1_0_+1 exposure while supported & braced on a guard rail. The images were then combined and aligned in "Photomatix Pro 3" and then Tone Mapped. The HDR gives you an idea of how violent the incoming storm was which dumped approx. 2" of rain on me 10 min. later in a matter of 20 min. or so.

Thanks for all the great comments on yesterdays image, I'm glad to be back at the dailies after a long & busy summer

Bill Pador > 8/26/09 - Hi Everyone, I finally got out into the field to run the NEW Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 Di II XR Lens through it's paces. Needless to say after reading all the fantastic reviews and Editors Choice Awards this lens was winning I was excited to add this fine piece of glass to my collection. So here's a great shot I grabbed with it. I was out driving around up in the mountains by my home, it started off sunny but partly cloudy but the light was great even during mid afternoon. As I drove around I spotted this lake with cool walk bridges scattered around it. I shot this hand held from one of the bridges as a huge storm was coming in from the south east being pushed into the area while the violent hurricane "Bill" (how cool) was off our shores turning up the seas with a 16'-18' storm surge.
~ ~ "BEST VIEWED LARGE or X-LARGE" for best detail ~ ~

So I got out of the car and started grabbing shots of the incoming storm in the distance while having the sun shining from my back onto the tree line making it glow. This lens is SUPER SHARP, Auto Focus is blazing fast and spot on even in low light and the colors & detail it produces are amazing, all for a mear $449 Shipped to my door from B&H Photo.

I'll be posting more shots taken with this lens in the following days so be sure to check them out, they all turned out pretty awesome IMO. I'll be writing a full review on the lens in my blog some time next week and will post a note when it's finished for any one interested in buying this fantastic wide angle f/2.8 glass.

I also just purchased the Brand New 'HONL PHOTO" Professional Series Flash Accessory System (Light Modifiers) www.expoimaging.net that has been getting great reviews from Pros the world over and will be writing a review on them as well. I bought every piece in the system all at once so I'll be able to test it all out properly. Some really cool stuff to say the least !

Hope your all doing well and having a great week

Best Regards,
~Bill~
Bill Pador > A closer view of the wild flowers & lake view on a gorgeous day

Bill Pador > HAPPY FRIDAY Everyone ! The weekend is here, Yippy ! I was out front of my house shooting some tulips again and I saw these two really cool flowers. This is NOT a trick shot, these 2 Tulips were right next to each other and both of them looked almost exactly alike with one pedal drooping down even at the same angle like this and other pedals in the same basic pattern. I couldn't believe what I was seeing so I had to post this one and title it Mirror Mirror LOL. In post I did a soft focus layer, enhanced color & contrast then added the framing. I got some awesome bokeh on this shot don't ya think? That's grass in the BG. . .

I've been up all night with spine pain again but it's under control with my meds but just too uncomfortable to sleep so I stayed up and learned some new tricks & techniques using LightRoom 2 during the night. I also created a whole bunch of new Artistic PRINTING LAYOUT TEMPLATES so I can just drop image(s) right into the template to print. I THINK they can be Exported and then Imported from my system to yours and if that is possible and anyone wants the templates let me know and I'll email the to you. It will save you a bunch of time setting them up yourself and I did some really cool one's for Artistic purposes that can be printed to a .jpg file instead of on paper and then can be posted on your sites (Things like triptychs, multiple pano's, special portrait displays etc.) If you want them drop me an email at billpador@gmail.com OR CLICK HERE TO EMAIL DIRECT and I'll jet them back to you. Maybe I'll use one tomorrow so you can see what I'm talking about. . .

Wishing you all a great Friday and hope your as excited about the weekend as I am

Best Regards,
~Bill~
Bill Pador > Happy Hump Day Everyone, Sorry I've been MIA for a few days, i just haven't been feeling well and needed a few days rest but I'm up & around again for the exception of still being really tired so I fired up a hot cup of coffee so I can sit down, relax and visit some of your dailies so I can catch up on my back log. The weather here has been, well simply put Awful! Raining for the lat 4 days with 2-3 more days like it still on tap, chilly, damp and dark. So looks like the next few days dailies will be still life projects, that's once I figure out what I want to shoot LOL

I hope you all have been having a good week, personally I'm looking forward to some better weather so I can get myself over to the Bronx and visit the Zoo for some Gorilla shots. I've been excited to visit the Bronx Zoo since last fall when I went. Hopefully I'll get some better conditions this time around with more sun & better lighting for the colorful bird shots. The Gorilla exhibit is what I'm looking forward to most though, they were one of the most incredible & fascinating animals to watch & photograph I've experienced in my entire career. I could sit & watch them for hours.

I took this shot from my front porch, the image really doesn't even do the sky justice as it looked in person was even more vivid & moody.

Enjoy your day folks, it's great to be back from my 4 day Missing In Action Tour, even my Mom was worried about my lack of posts LOL - So this is for you Mom ;)
