Bill Pador > Good Morning all - I had gone outside to shoot some of the flowers in my garden before mother nature takes them away for the fall so I wondered over to my wild flower bed and started shooting these and low & behold I saw this LITTLE TINY (and I mean TINY - size of an pencil eraser head tip) Single Spider (on Right) sitting on the pedal. Well I started to frame it up and by the time I started to shoot he had moved up the middle and I started to witness a war between these 2 fellows. I don't know where the other one came from but he appeared and BAM they stared at each other for 10 seconds or so and then started battling. It was over in 5 seconds and the left one high tailed it off to another flower. I racked off about 30 frames in about 4 seconds and this is the only one that came out focused in the proper area because of the narrow f/stop I was using to get some good bokeh. I just love this lens!
* * / / Check it out at X3LARGE size to see the spiders face up close the eyes & nose can be seen pretty freaky \ \* *

Not much PP here, a slight bit of unsharp mask and the framing was all that was needed. So I'm glad I was able to hand hold this puppy and get a good enough exposure to share with you today. Thanks for all the wonderful comments on the Badge image from yesterday, that was a fun shot for me to take.

Bill Pador > Today I'm keeping it simple, I'm really tired and need some sleep so here's a macro shot of my retired police badge that's been sitting on my desk the last 7 years staring me in the face so I decided to shoot it. Simple frame and off we go ;) Hopefully I'll have more energy tomorrow - Thanks for all the great comments on my POD yesterday I really appreciate the kind words. Have a great day all !
Bill Pador > "Crystal Love"
This macro shot was inspired after I used this colored light stand for my crystal glass shot a few days ago (see Junes POD gallery). I used the Nikon D300 internal Multiple Exposure program (2 frames) to create this image by taking the Front (right) exposure 1st and then turning the crystal around and sliding it to the left part of the frame for the 2nd shot, the cameras processor then combines the shots internally and the results above are basically straight out of the camera. The only post done on this is the frame border since it really didn't need anything and I was lacking time to do anything further with it LOL.

Shot in total darkness using Tamron 90mm Di f/2.8 1:1 Macro Lens set at:
SS: 1.6 Seconds
AP: f/13
ISO 200
Bill Pador > This little guy was so busy pollinating flowers this morning I just had to document his efforts. The weather was very overcast and needing to set my f/stop quite high for a crisp depth of field I resorted to using my on board flash. To soften the light so it wasn't so harsh doing a close macro shot I used rear curtain flash set to -1.7 flash compensation which enabled me to capture a nice crisp image with good depth of field and contrast on the leaves & water drops on the pedal.
Bill Pador > "OCEAN LILLY"
I really like this composition of an Iris covered with water drops from the evening rain. I shot this from a low angle upwards. To me it looked similar to something you would see on an ocean reef with the small yellow & white spine like creatures that live on them and sway with the ocean tide. If you look closely there is a larger water drop embedded in the spines which spread them apart to give a more fuller effect to the flowers center. The deep colored veins that run the length of the pedal also gave this shot some nice color contrast & depth. Now I'm just waiting for an ocean creature to pop it's head out of the cave in the back LOL
Bill Pador > "Fly Gets a Drink"
While shooting my lilies this fly managed to land on this purple Lilly I was photographing to take a drink from one of the water droplets on the pedal
Bill Pador > Tulip Macro Image
Bill Pador > Orange Tulip macro image shot with a 90mm Tamron Di 1:1 macro lens
Bill Pador > Fly Macro image captured Hand Held using the Legendary Tamron 90mm Di 1:1 Macro Lens. I HIGHLY recommend this lens for anyone looking for a terrific 90mm Portrait / Macro lens. This lens can be bought for under $600.00 US and gives you a ton of bang for your buck. It's A very Crisp Fast piece of glass with a nice quick & silent AF motor along with a limited focus area switch and is very light.

If you'd like more info on this lens and it's capabilities please feel free to email me at info@billpador.com and i'll be more then happy to answer your questions
