Bill Pador > 8-30-09 / Here's another HDR shot I did at the Bridge Lake concentrating on the far shore this time with the fountain in it. Again the storm clouds rolling in and some nice deep rich colors, great reflections and sharp focus from the Tamron lens and the sun from my back. Shot as a (3) frame -1_0_+1 exposure, combined as a HDR and tone mapped in Photomatix Pro 3. * Best Viewed Large)

I'll certainly be visiting this spot in the fall when the colors change, should look awesome !

Bill Pador > "Bridge To The Sky"

This shot was taken ON the walk bridge seen & used in my last 2 images. It includes some of the outward storm clouds approaching with the water fall just on the right of the frame. Shot with Tamron 17-50mm Di II XR f/2.8 Lens

Have a Great Weekend Everyone

Bill Pador > 8-27-09 This is a (3) Frame Hand held HDR shot of the Bridge I shot yesterdays lake image from pointing in the same direction where the storm was coming in from over the mountains (Best Viewed Large). The image was shot as a (3) Frame -1_0_+1 exposure while supported & braced on a guard rail. The images were then combined and aligned in "Photomatix Pro 3" and then Tone Mapped. The HDR gives you an idea of how violent the incoming storm was which dumped approx. 2" of rain on me 10 min. later in a matter of 20 min. or so.

Thanks for all the great comments on yesterdays image, I'm glad to be back at the dailies after a long & busy summer

Bill Pador > 8/26/09 - Hi Everyone, I finally got out into the field to run the NEW Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 Di II XR Lens through it's paces. Needless to say after reading all the fantastic reviews and Editors Choice Awards this lens was winning I was excited to add this fine piece of glass to my collection. So here's a great shot I grabbed with it. I was out driving around up in the mountains by my home, it started off sunny but partly cloudy but the light was great even during mid afternoon. As I drove around I spotted this lake with cool walk bridges scattered around it. I shot this hand held from one of the bridges as a huge storm was coming in from the south east being pushed into the area while the violent hurricane "Bill" (how cool) was off our shores turning up the seas with a 16'-18' storm surge.
~ ~ "BEST VIEWED LARGE or X-LARGE" for best detail ~ ~

So I got out of the car and started grabbing shots of the incoming storm in the distance while having the sun shining from my back onto the tree line making it glow. This lens is SUPER SHARP, Auto Focus is blazing fast and spot on even in low light and the colors & detail it produces are amazing, all for a mear $449 Shipped to my door from B&H Photo.

I'll be posting more shots taken with this lens in the following days so be sure to check them out, they all turned out pretty awesome IMO. I'll be writing a full review on the lens in my blog some time next week and will post a note when it's finished for any one interested in buying this fantastic wide angle f/2.8 glass.

I also just purchased the Brand New 'HONL PHOTO" Professional Series Flash Accessory System (Light Modifiers) www.expoimaging.net that has been getting great reviews from Pros the world over and will be writing a review on them as well. I bought every piece in the system all at once so I'll be able to test it all out properly. Some really cool stuff to say the least !

Hope your all doing well and having a great week

Best Regards,
~Bill~

 Shadow from Light Challenge...03/30/09
The Challenge:Show us your interpretation of "Shadow from Light"
The Participants: Kre8ive, John (300m), The Curious Camel, Karina, Creative Deviance, Lady Kate, Johnloguk, MSpencer, Trevlan, FotoEffects, Hillary, and myself.
The Result:We had a cool lighting storm last night but as you know capturing it is not an easy mission. after hundreds of frames I was finally able to capture light and the shadow of my neighbors house & tree and this was the ONLY frame worth posting making it a true challenge to me. I had orignally shot a small statue against a bright light for this chllenge but this situation came up late last night and was able to capture this single frame ~Bill~
Bill Pador > I captured this Red Cardinal yesterday during the snow storm. He kept flying from this tree to my EMPTY bird feeder for about 30 min. I felt so bad that I had no bird feed left and couldn't help him & the other 20+ birds hanging out in my yard in the snow storms heavy winds and blowing snow. I have had this pair of Cardinals coming back each spring for the last 3+ years. I'm so happy he has returned and look forward to the signs of his return signaling that Spring is just around the corner. I'm off to get some bird feed tomorrow so he decides to stay around for a while and not leave for greener pastures LOL. I really liked how the sun reflected off the snow and lit his belly & head colors up like this, he almost looks like he's glowing out there doesn't he ? I only had my 200mm lens on, wish I had switched to my 300 or 500mm to get closer, oh well next time !

I'm so glad my Monopoly shot yesterday brought back so many memories for so many people, that means I did my job right. Have a wonderful Hump Day (Wednesday) everyone !

"ATTENTION CHRONIC PAIN PATIENTS"
I have noticed that we have a LOT of people here on the dailies that are either Chronic Pain Patients like myself or have a close family member who suffers from a pain disability. I thought that maybe if there is enough of you interested we could start our own little PAIN SUPPORT GROUP. We could use email on a daily basis where we would all SEND & REPLY to 'ALL RECIPIANTS' when you want to talk to everyone about something, need support, have a question or just want to vent. Then we could also have everyone get a SKYPE account (if you don't have one already) and we could either Audio or Video conference once a week on a week day night that's good for everyone and have a little meeting to do the same. I have belonged to several pain message boards & support groups over the years and find that talking to others in the same situation helps a lot. If you are one of the people who emails me on this subject (you know who you are) or would like to help me start this group, drop me an email at billpador@gmail.com with your interest in this. I think we could really have a good time while helping each other !

Best Regards,
~Bill~
Bill Pador > 3/2/09 - Just a quick snap shot out my back door to show my friend "KRE8IVE" what 14.8" of snow looks like compared to her 2.5" she got down south LOL We had 2.5" an HOUR at certain points during this Nor'Easter - Tell you what Kathleen, I'll TRADE YA !
Bill Pador > "Deep Orange Glow"
I shot this from my front porch During an approaching storm the other night the sun started going down and the colors were bleeding through the storm clouds creating an awesome sky. I shot a hand held 3 frame bracket -1, 0, +1 then brought it into Photomatix to create an HDR, Tone Mapped it and then into CS3 where I adjusted Levels, Curves, Contrast. Then into NIK Color Efex to boost Pro contrast and then finished it off with Imagenomic Noiseware and keyline frame. I just wish I would have grabbed my tripod to make things easier in blending mode but it came out pretty good for hand held anyway.

The Smiling Joe Project is coming along nicely, I've been busy putting together all the logistics of the plan and should be sending out another email to everyone in the next few days with more updates and how this will work for everyone. Don't worry, it's a simple process for you all and nothing but fun involved, it's me who is tearing his hair out right now LOL Not really it's not that bad, just a lot of paper work (which I hate) but once it's all done it will run like clock work (I hope LOL) IN the mean time I've been able to recruit 2 more countries, India & Australia to his overseas adventure. So as of now he will be traveling to "7" different countries on 4 different continents, not bad ! Thanks for every one's participation, I'm VERY excited about the whole thing.

Have a Great Evening Everyone,
~Bill~
Bill Pador > "Blowing in the Wind" A shot of my neighbors basketball hoop that has taken some abuse during our many snow storms with the net showing wear & tears while it blows in the wind. This image has been post processed & tone mapped as a single frame HDR (*High Dynamic Ranging) photo to bring out the textures, colors, light & shadows.
