Bill Pador > "Which End is Up?"
Well I'm finally back after an almost 2 week leave of abstance! I picked this image to work on since it kinda tells the story of how I've felt the past 2 weeks while away & ill. I don't think I have to describe the image nor it's meaning LOL so please let your imaginations run wild and make up your own minds, after all that is what art is all about right ? LOL

I just wanted to take this time to Thank ALL of you who sent me your well wishes, prayers, cards & emails while I was away. I'm sorry I was unable to respond individually to all of your letters but believe me I read each & every one of them and they meant the world to me, touched my heart to know how many friends I have here and certainly helped in lifting my spirits, so from the bottom of my heart I say THANK YOU one & all! I'm feeling about 99.9% now and I can;'t wait to get back to working on my art.

A Special Thanks to my great friend John Murphy who was there for me when I needed a buddy & proved to me that there are still some awesome people in this world and I consider it an honor to call him MY GOOD FRIEND! Thanks for passing on my messages to the group John, you know from our phone calls how much I appreciated all what you did for me, Thanks BROTHER!@

So needless to say I have some catching up to do on my dailies rounds, I'm sure I have missed some incredible images from you all and I can't wait to see & respond to them.

Bill is "BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN" !

Best Regards,

Bill Pador > This is the Original image of the Special Sepia version I put in my POD gallery today and felt I should post it in my POD EXTRAS gallery here because he's such a great looking horse it would be a shame to waist it.

I stopped at the horse farm around the corner from my house today because it's a favorite place of mine to visit & shoot. Most of the horses know me very well from visiting there for the last 10 years. It's loaded with male studs and is a very peaceful place for me to gather my thoughts and enjoy the wild life. No matter where I am on the farm property fence when they hear the camera clicking they all come running over to me (I've been know to bear gifts -'bribes' of apple slices or sugar cubes LOL)

I've photographed this guy for the last 3 years or so (I call him 'Big Brown') and this time I managed to get a nice side view of him just a few feet away. The original image was great in color but I wanted to do something special so I did a creative sepia conversion and hoped for good results, I hope you all like it.

PS: To prove that even professionals make mistakes DAILY I just wanted to let you know that I screwed up this entire shoot, I shot all my images at ISO 1000 during a Blazing Sun lit day because I forgot to change my setting from last nights work LOL I should have realized when it was giving me a SS of 1/1600 - 1/2000 every image in AP mode that something was wrong but I didn't realize it till I started looking at the images in Nikon ViewerNX after transfering to the PC ;) Not a huge mistake because I was in AP but had I been in SP it would have provided a boat load of unnessesary noise and a lot of work to remove it from each image.

Image Specs:
Lens: Nikkor 18-200mm @ 200mm
EX: 1/1600
AP: f/5.6
ISO: 1000 (yes 1000 - opps)
WB: Auto

"WORK FLOW"
Image was taken through several steps of work flow starting off in CaptureNX for some minor selective area noise reduction. Then into CS3 for my normal Sharpening routine and then into NIK 'SILVER EFX PRO' (*Fantastice B&W Plug-In set)for the B&W/SEPIA conversion & tweaks. I simulated 'ILFORD DELTA 100 PRO film and used a slight green filter to bring out the darker areas a bit more, then saved full size/full resolution as shot - so I can order a Large High Res Print for myself, this is going to hang on my studio wall!

Bill Pador > I thought this was a cool shot since the horse in the rear was at an angle causing the shot to look like a 2 bodied horse facing both ways. just one of those Happy Accident shots I thought was worthy of posting, something different & interesting
Bill Pador > 2 of the horses at the local stud farm checking me out. They were nice enough to come right up to me and pose for this shot LOL
Bill Pador > This is my favorite horse at the local stud farm. He's got the most gorgeous eye color containing a vast array of Green, Blue & Yellow/Green which change colors & hue during different light situations. I have been photographing this horse for many years now and he has come to liking me as much as I do him. No matter where on the property he is located he will come running over to me as soon as he hears the camera shutter start clicking away. He enjoys carrots & sugar cubes that I feed him. I liked this shot since it shows his eyes at their best and the bokeh on the background turned out awesome to isolate his face & eyes quite nicely. You can see many other photos of this beautiful horse in my Animal Gallery
Bill Pador > "The HORSE TRAIN" (Limited Edition Print Available)

Well looks like I had a 'HAPPY ACCIDENT' today. This is my version of a HORSE TRAIN LOL. I didn't realize I had this shot until I got into the dark room and when I saw it I said "Wow that is so cool looking, I could do a lot with this shot". The illusion of a 2 bodied horse with 1 head. This is NOT a Photo Shop trick, other then some color mapping, curves adjustment, selective dodging & burning, the selective coloring to let the natural eye color show and framing not much else has been done to this image. The second horse was following so closely as they walked toward me and he must have dipped his head right at the moment I fired the shutter it just happened that way. It's always nice to see something in the dark room you didn't know you captured and I just call them Happy Accidents (which I THINK I stole from the famous oil painter BOB ROSS *RIP*)

The horses are actually different shades of brown so in color the effect just didn't do it justice but when I applied my own custom filter which is a mixture of a Black & White effect and a brownish AGED effect it really set the capture off to what I was looking for. I only use this effect on certain photos but I'm going to start using it more as it is pretty much one of my signature looks and I really like the results on the right image, this is a prime example of one of them.

As always comments are welcome, I'm really interested in how my fellow artists & the general public like this one! Thanks for looking ~Bill~

NOTE: I will have the larger full high resolution version of this image available in my ANIMAL Gallery for print sales along with a Limited Signed Edition in my soon to be created Fine Art Gallery limited to just 15 artist signed Prints
Bill Pador > One of my Favorite Horse images this image has the look of love in her eyes doesn't she? Along with that small twisted hair braid on her neck as if she was twisting her hair while talking to her significant other just tells a story in itself, and what gorgeous eyes for an animal.

I have photographed this horse dozens of times over the past few years and she ALWAYS gives me a great modeling session and loves the camera. I'm sure the carrots I bring along for a treat doesn't hurt either but all the same I just adore this horse and will continue to shot her as long as she's around, simply a gorgeous unique animal.
Bill Pador > Shot during an assignment at a local stud farm. I will shoot any kind of animal or pet you wish to preserve their memory, create special abstract or artistic creations of your pets & animals. Let me capture your pet in their natural setting or any special place you wish. Pet portrait appointments are limited so call for availability before their booked for the year.
