Bill Pador > "Another Day Goes Away"
10-21-09 / I shot this sunset this evening at one of my favorite spots for sunsets, The Rockaway Mall Parking lot LOL. It may be funny but I have known since 1990 when I lived just across the street 200' from here and had a deck off my kitchen that faced this very mountain giving me the exact view you are seeing now and I used to sit on the deck every night waiting for this scene. Just having this view increased the value of my town house 10's of thousands of dollars when it came time to sell it. The deck & this view were my favorite part of living there. This image is almost SOTC with the exception of the long crop, basic sharpening & frame. Enjoy it my friends !

PS: Thanks for all the wonderful comments the past few days on my Fish Eye Lens series !

Bill Pador > Happy Hump Day Everyone, Sorry I've been MIA for a few days, i just haven't been feeling well and needed a few days rest but I'm up & around again for the exception of still being really tired so I fired up a hot cup of coffee so I can sit down, relax and visit some of your dailies so I can catch up on my back log. The weather here has been, well simply put Awful! Raining for the lat 4 days with 2-3 more days like it still on tap, chilly, damp and dark. So looks like the next few days dailies will be still life projects, that's once I figure out what I want to shoot LOL

I hope you all have been having a good week, personally I'm looking forward to some better weather so I can get myself over to the Bronx and visit the Zoo for some Gorilla shots. I've been excited to visit the Bronx Zoo since last fall when I went. Hopefully I'll get some better conditions this time around with more sun & better lighting for the colorful bird shots. The Gorilla exhibit is what I'm looking forward to most though, they were one of the most incredible & fascinating animals to watch & photograph I've experienced in my entire career. I could sit & watch them for hours.

I took this shot from my front porch, the image really doesn't even do the sky justice as it looked in person was even more vivid & moody.

Enjoy your day folks, it's great to be back from my 4 day Missing In Action Tour, even my Mom was worried about my lack of posts LOL - So this is for you Mom ;)

Bill Pador > Added 3/20/09 - Sunset Silhouette
Bill Pador > Good Day All - Today was a WONDERFUL day here in NJ 68' Sunny with a nice breeze and a great day for shooting! I was out most of the afternoon shooting all kinds of neat stuff but haven't gone through the files yet because I'm totally bushed from not sleeping the last 48 hours. So I threw the final shot of the day together for my daily which as you can see was a blazing orange sunset right at the end of my street as I turned the car in for home. I've gotta get some rest but will post some more of today's shots tomorrow in my 'Extras'.

BTW: Thank You All for your wonderful comments, well wishes & prayers for me & my family yesterday. I'm feeling much better today as you can see and hopefully on the upswing again - YEA ! Shooting all day took my mind off the pain & discomfort a lot so that's always a good thing too.

Have a Great Thursday Everyone, the weekend is almost here for you 9-5 working types LOL !

Best Regards,
~Bill~
Bill Pador > Hi guys, sorry for being MIA for a few days, I've been pretty ill with my back as usual and not feeling like doing much of anything and really apologize for being late on my comments. I don't like getting behind like this but I've just not had the energy to do any of my own work let alone sitting in a chair for any length of time. It's been a pretty rough 3 days for me but I'm on the upswing now and hoping that I will be feeling more of myself tomorrow. I've also been dealing with a death in the family, my Dad's very close cousin who was a priest and a VERY nice man passed away yesterday from a long illness which has also put some additional stress on me for my Dad who is quite upset. Just not a good few days but I guess we all have these things to deal with and I'm trying to get myself back in the saddle again. The weather here is getting Spring Like in the 50's and 60 tomorrow which will put a happy feeling in my soul. Thanks for your understanding guys I really appreciate your support !

Bill Pador > 3/6/09"Flowers In The Shadows"
(*This should be a funny story for you) This quickly become one of my favorite POD captures I've taken in recent months and certainly #1 for 2009 so far and all because I had to visit the little boys room ! LOL I was working on some images downstairs in my studio when the pot of coffee I had consumed caught up with me and forced me into taking a quick potty break, I flew up the stairs & opened the door when I saw this beautiful sun light coming through the front window as the sun was setting in the west. It had a gorgeous (magic hour) glow to it and it was beaming right into my favorite room in the house (my formal dinning room) which I painted a deep barn red because I had seen it on CRIBS in many Celebreties homes and thought it looked very classy. The color goes great against any bronze fixtures like chandeliers, wall plates and furniture fixtures thus making it my favorite room because of the looks & feel of it.

The light was focused on this area which is a serving table with this plant on top of it and one of my old piano photos mounted above it. The light was hitting the plant leafs just right to highlight them beautifully along with creating shadows on the wall from the bush that sits in front of the window outside. I was blown away at the scene it created and RAN for my camera before I lost the light which was setting FAST ! I snapped off a few frames hand held and then continued my emergency run for the little boys room. After the pure joy of 'Taking Care of Business' there I made a bee line for the digital dark room.

* * "POST PRODUCTION" * *
I processed 80% of the RAW file in LightRoom 2 using the New 'Adjustment Brush' as a burn & dodge tool to bring the highlights of the light strikes on the leafs out and brought the shadows to a more pleasurable level, all using the Adjustment Brush ! If you have LR2 and haven't learned how to use that brush I highly suggest you do because it is one of the coolest tools out there and is an amazing Dodge & Burn tool that can be customized to any level you need, a BRILLIANT Tool to say the least. While processing it I knew I wanted to turn this into a Fine Art piece to sell so after some minor sharpening & Contrast adjustments I headed into CS3 to add some Fine Art touches using OnOne Photo Frames Pro 4. I STACKED 7 frames together to create my own custom EDGE with red bleeds picking the color up with the eye dropper off the wall color paint. I adjusted the size of the layers, added some hand toned shapes and applied the stack several times as LAYERS, erasing portions around the edges after each application using a layer mask until I had the look I wanted to enhance the edges and allowed the red color to bleed properly, then finished it with a black with red keyline frame. ~ That concludes are lesson for today, so be sure to take that bathroom break when mother nature calls, it could lead to an "AH HAH MOMENT" ~ Best Regards, Bill ~

Bill Pador > "Deep Orange Glow"
I shot this from my front porch During an approaching storm the other night the sun started going down and the colors were bleeding through the storm clouds creating an awesome sky. I shot a hand held 3 frame bracket -1, 0, +1 then brought it into Photomatix to create an HDR, Tone Mapped it and then into CS3 where I adjusted Levels, Curves, Contrast. Then into NIK Color Efex to boost Pro contrast and then finished it off with Imagenomic Noiseware and keyline frame. I just wish I would have grabbed my tripod to make things easier in blending mode but it came out pretty good for hand held anyway.

The Smiling Joe Project is coming along nicely, I've been busy putting together all the logistics of the plan and should be sending out another email to everyone in the next few days with more updates and how this will work for everyone. Don't worry, it's a simple process for you all and nothing but fun involved, it's me who is tearing his hair out right now LOL Not really it's not that bad, just a lot of paper work (which I hate) but once it's all done it will run like clock work (I hope LOL) IN the mean time I've been able to recruit 2 more countries, India & Australia to his overseas adventure. So as of now he will be traveling to "7" different countries on 4 different continents, not bad ! Thanks for every one's participation, I'm VERY excited about the whole thing.

Have a Great Evening Everyone,
~Bill~

"Another Day Goes Away"
