Bill Pador > "Coming To an End"
Well the Fall Colors have treated me very well this year. It was a very exciting & productive season for color hunting and my successful trips day after day are now coming to an end. The leafs are falling from the tress faster then ever after a strong 10 day period where they were in full swing. Now as I look around they seem to be disappearing as fast as the clock hands sweep around every 60 minutes, bringing the dreaded winter months closer & closer. I still have a TON of images to process from my outings but they will get put into my Fall Colors Gallery soon. I wanted to do it yesterday but a last minute client booked a session that took me all day & not to process for gift purposes and my clients come first so I stayed up until 4am completing the job of processing over 800 images from the shoot.

This shot comes from a spot around the corner from my home again and I liked the way the colors blended with the nice blue sky. Very little processing was involved, regular sharpening and a re-size is about all involved here.

I hope you all enjoyed my Fall Color presentation this year and I look forward to grabbing some nice winter snow & ice scenes this year. I have a few SECRET spots I scouted during the summer so hopefully they pan out with some good images this year.

Have a Great Day Everyone !

Bill Pador > October '08 Photo of The Day photo
Bill Pador > Good Morning all - I had gone outside to shoot some of the flowers in my garden before mother nature takes them away for the fall so I wondered over to my wild flower bed and started shooting these and low & behold I saw this LITTLE TINY (and I mean TINY - size of an pencil eraser head tip) Single Spider (on Right) sitting on the pedal. Well I started to frame it up and by the time I started to shoot he had moved up the middle and I started to witness a war between these 2 fellows. I don't know where the other one came from but he appeared and BAM they stared at each other for 10 seconds or so and then started battling. It was over in 5 seconds and the left one high tailed it off to another flower. I racked off about 30 frames in about 4 seconds and this is the only one that came out focused in the proper area because of the narrow f/stop I was using to get some good bokeh. I just love this lens!
* * / / Check it out at X3LARGE size to see the spiders face up close the eyes & nose can be seen pretty freaky \ \* *

Not much PP here, a slight bit of unsharp mask and the framing was all that was needed. So I'm glad I was able to hand hold this puppy and get a good enough exposure to share with you today. Thanks for all the wonderful comments on the Badge image from yesterday, that was a fun shot for me to take.

Bill Pador > Red & Yellow Tulips
Bill Pador > This is the back side of an old Caboose that must have been repainted recently. It had some really good vivid color combinations on it along with good contrast & saturation. If you look into the mesh window guard you can actually see the clear blue sky through the window on the opposite side that bleeds through the image adding to the awesome color contrast & saturation here.
Bill Pador > These gears were located on a hand pump rail cart. The paint was chipping off and it contained a ton of rust on it, making for a PERFECT abstract capture for me because I was looking for something like this to try a cool technique out on commonly known as the Dave Hill Look. I did this on my own not following any tutorials just to try and see if I could figure out on my own how to get that LOOK & FEEL his photographs have and I think I did a pretty good job for my first try. I have however gained some tutorials to read and I will be adding another section in the Abstract Gallery to display the work I do to get this look down pat so that I may offer it to my clients in the near future. So keep checking back to see when I post the new photos in the Abstract Gallery displaying this technique which when done right makes a real photograph have this totally unique look to them which I describe as a cross between a cartoon, a highly textured image and an old oil painting. I can't wait to offer this to my clients, you will go batty over this stuff !
